Craig Welburn
SCHOLARSHIP
The Craig Welburn Scholarship is given to a Senior who is in business-minded, and strives to improve their community and its members through community service. Craig is a 1967 graduate of Conestoga where he was a standout football and track star. He would go on to graduate from Cheyney State College where he continued his athletic career as an elite sprinter and hurdler. After receiving his B.A. degree in secondary education and social science in 1971, and his M.A. degree in management from Central Michigan University, he would begin his career in middle management at the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company for 11 years before becoming a restaurateur. He next started his own company Welburn Management where he now owns and operates 29 McDonald's restaurants, placing him in the top 1% of all owners. Welburn has used his success to give back to those around him by funding scholarships, donating a family lounge at the Inova Fairfax Hospital, and serving on multiple leadership councils and boards.
